History of ASDA's Tickled Pink campaign

Over the last 12 years we have raised nearly £20 million for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign - see how we achieved this on our timeline below.

1997

Tickled Pink for Breast Cancer Care

ASDA launched the 'Tickled Pink' campaign back in 1997 to highlight the importance of breast awareness as early detection is key, and to raise the vital funds required to support people affected by breast cancer.

A partnership with Breast Cancer Care was formed to support the provision of 'free' breast cancer information and support services. In our first year alone we raised a phenomenal £530,000 for Breast Cancer Care.

Fundraising also took a wilder and wackier turn, with the introduction of colleagues dunked in a bath of pink custard across our stores and depots, helping us raised an additional £370,000, taking our fundraising total to date over £1 million!
